Lowe’s has announced the launch of Energy Centers in 21 California stores. The Energy Centers give customers options for creating energy plans that fit their budget and home improvement goals, the company reports.
Lowe’s plans to offer utility-connected wind turbines by special order. The 10,000-W Excel-S turbine by Bergey Windpower is installed on a 100-ft. tower and is suitable for rural homes, farms, and small businesses. Cascade Renewable Energy’s 1,000-W Swift Wind Turbine has a 7-ft. wingspan and can be mounted to a rooftop or pole at various heights. Its design makes it suitable for urban and suburban areas.
