My favorite parts of President Obama’s Feb. 12 State of the Union address are the green parts. Not surprising. And the manufacturing parts. The flip side of the same coin, as I see it.
“Our first priority is making America a magnet for new jobs and manufacturing.
The President led off his State of the Union address by putting manufacturing front and center, saying “Tonight, I want to speak about how we move forward and lay out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last, an economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values.
“This blueprint begins with American manufacturing,” he said.
Pres. Obama mentioned “manufacturing” “business” and “industry” “factory” “goods” no fewer than 41 times.
In his Jan. 24 State of the Union address, Pres. Obama pointed to “a future where we’re in control of our own energy,” and said he refuses to back down from supporting clean, green energy. “Nowhere is the promise of innovation greater than in American-made energy.
